Reston was named after Robert E. Simon (his initials, RES), a man
who had a dream of a community that had a natural environment with
trees and lakes and pathways that would make it hard to remember
that you were living in a nationally recognized business magnet.
The reality of that dream is obvious to those who live in Reston
and those who have come to visit friends, family or dropped by the
Reston Visitors Center just to look around.
